New Stamp Duty Land Tax Rates (from April 2016)

These are the new Stamp Duty Land Tax progressive rates effective for all new purchases in England from April 2016. The main difference is an extra 3% on all tax bands / brackets for second home and buy to let properties.

Stamp Duty (SDLT) is payable to the HMRC when purchasing a property in England within 30 days of completion of contracts (closing the real state purchase). SDLT is payable by everyone including overseas buyers.
